AQUATICS.
HOME BAT SAILING CLUB. The >woad annual picnic of the Hume Bay Sailing Club was held at Pine Island on Saturday afternoon. A ferry steamer conveyed a large number of visitors to the island, who were accompanied by the I>evoupoi-t Brass Baud. The weather was nearly perfect for rho outing, though the head wind delayed tXw arrival of the club yachts. The following programme of sports was arranged and carried through:— Club yacht's dingy race: Mr Oeo. Murphy. Ladies' dingy race: Miss M. Bruund. Scullius; race: Mr Alf Bell. Swimming race, KWyds. handicap: Mr 1.. Milne Corfu dive: Mr H. Sands. Sack race: Mr G. Leppcr. Ladies' race: Miss L. BraunS. The entries in all events weii- large and proved very interesting. Mr J. Warren acted as judge, and Messrs Sloauc. Schischka. and W. Sands as starrFrs. anH" gave every s:itisfaction. Comniui'.ore Palmer and the fl:ig officers attended to the visitors, ably assisted by a committee of ladies.
