Prisoner said his wife suffered from hysterics and a weak heart, and it was for this reason that he went to protect her from Allan. lie had already nearly lost his wife three times through fright. Allan struck the first blow and received his injury in a fall. The jury found prisoner guilty, with a strong recommendation to mercy on I account of his wife'a condition, and for ! the sake of his wife antl family. The foreman stated that ten of the jurymen. considered he had strong provocation. His Honor said he would sentence hhn to-morrow. THEFI 01- A BANKBOOK.
