THE GOLDFIELDS.
BUNKER'S HILL. The manager telegraphed to-day: — "101b of picked stone from No. 3 stope." THAMES DRAINAGE BOARD. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) THAMES, this day. The Thames Drainage Board met today, Mr Lennox presiding. The committee recommends a substantial reduction in the May Queen assessment, seeing that a syndicate so far has not been able to raise the necessary capital to carry on a proper system of development. The committee granted contributory companies a rebate of 50 per cent, on the December contribution in addition to 5 per cent- already allowed. The financial statement showed that the Board was in a satisfactory position. It was resolved that the assessment be left in the hands of the new Board, and to recommend the new Boards that the assessment of the May Queen should not exceed £500.
