THE BLACK FAMILY.
The Black Family of musical entertainers -will make their first appearance at His Majesty's Theatre on Wednesday next. A family whose individual and collective skill equals that which is said to be displayed by the Black Family encourages acquaintance. The family consists of six members, who are each and all declared to be uncommonly good artists. Miss Nellie V. Black is said to possess an exceptionally fine, true and highly cultured contralto voice, her diction being perfect, and her expression effective and telling. Miss Blade is said to have few equals in the colony as a violinist, her "trick" violinplaying being remarkably clever, while M. J. Black is a most amusing raconteur and vocalist. Besides playing the cornet and 'cello, Mr Bertie introduces into the programme several highlyamusing musical novelties. Miss Elsie has the reputation of being a clever Violinist, flautist, and danseuse. If the company is up to reputation, the programme will serve to show their undoubted versatility, each being given the opportunity of manipulating three or more instruments.
