A Chinaman has died at Cairns from what is believed to be plague.

The barque Bannockburn, which ran ashore on the. coast of South Australia, has been re-iloated.

The deaths are announced on one day of Mr Charles Seile Hayne, M.P., and Mr John Penri, M.P.

Mr. Beale, of the Parnell Council, has been chosen by his council as their representative in the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board.

Viscount Peel, Chairman of the Conciliation Board at Cardiff, gave his easting vote in favour of a five per cent, reduction of the wages of the coalminers of Monmouthshire and South Wales.
