Last week Mr John Belcher and Miss Katkerine Yercoe were married at Hamilton Congregational Church, and they have now gone to New Plymouth, in the vicinity of which they are to live. Mr Mesteyer, who is reporting on the drainage and water systems of Auckland, has concluded his investigations in Auckland, and leaves for Wellington to-morrow. He will submit his report from Wellington. He also has given some attention to the drainage of Bemuera, and will submit a report upon the question. Mr. T. B. Salmon has had the good fortune to be proraotPtl from the position of mail room supervisor at Auckland to postmaster jat the Bluff. He has ben eight years in the Auckland office, and in recognition of his connection with the local stalF the Chief Postmaster yesterday presented him with a set of decanters from them. Mr. Salmon, who is a lieutenant in the Auckland Navals, will receive another testimonial from that corps to-night. Heleaves for his new position to-morrow.

The parishioners of St". Matthew's Church, Hikurangi, met on Monday last to bid farewell to the TCcv. C. E. Marsh, who has removed to Taupiri. An address and a dressing case were presented to the clergyman by his parishioners, who regretted his departure. The death of Mr. T. K. Wilson, of Weymouth, Manurewa, occurred after a long and painful illness. Mr. Wilson Avas a native of Scotland, and in 1387 lie came out to New Zealand at the invitation of his brother-in-law. Or. He served for several y-ears as dispenser of the Kumara Hospital, and then retired to Weymouth, where he was induced to take up the work of school teacher to prevent the school from being closed. He had had great experience of teaching in Scotland, and be held the position till tfis health failed. He was a prominent Freemason, beinc a P.M. of Lodge Kumara and a member -of Lodge Papakura, whose members attended his funeral numerously.
