(By Telegraph—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Monday. With the Public Works Statement, the estimates of expenditure ou railways, roads, bridges, etc., were presented to the House to-night. Appended will be found the items of greatest interest to Auckland. (Tho figures in brackets representing the amount voted last year.) THE RAILWAY ESTIMATES. £200,000 for Main Trunk, £15,000 for North Auckland. A totul vote of £90_-,000, of which £217,090 is already spent, is set aside for railway works, of which £oo_,ooo is for construction and £350,000 for additions to open lines. MISCELLANEOUS. The vote for the Auckland bone sterilising plant Is £2000, and a similar amount is set apart for a steriliser at the Bluff. The vote for clearing the Manukau channel is not Increased, but it is considered sufficient if the work is done by the torpedo corps. A vote is set down for the construction of a new police station nt Parnell, and £1000 Is provided for the erection of a landing wharf at Motuibi. The Auckland Infectious diseases hospital vote of £2000 is on account of the total sum to be voted. A sum of £1000 Is set apart for new bath buildings at Rotorua against £5000 the previons year, of which only £589 was expended. The Rotorua drainage account Is reduced from £5000 to £3000, while the vote for electrical purposes is increased from £3000 to £4000. Tbe water supply vote (on account of, £20,250) Is reduced from £3000 to £1500.
