SALE OF PEDIGREE STOCK.
f" PROPOSED FREEZING WORKS-

j HAMILTON, Thursday. ' Messrs McGovem and McGuire, who 'feeently purahased the Goodfellows' Estate at Te Awamutu, held a clearing sale of pedigree Clydesdale stock yesterday. Over 30 brood mares were submitted, the 3owest price being £17 and the highest !£G2, sales averaging about £39. Yearlings sold from £18 10/ to £33, a pair _>f colts being sold at the latter figure. Uwo and three-year-old colts and fillies iby Royal Conqueror sold up to £45. fThe stallion Royal Conqueror brought 4 135 guineas. Most of the stock was jpurchased by Waikato buyers. At a meeting of the executive of the proposed freezing works to-day, a letter man read from the Hellaby Co. offering to freeze for all-comers. It was reported that the eommifatee had irateirviewed the Hellaby Co. in Auckland, and arranged to have their brands changed. Up to the present all first-class mutton and lamb had gone Home as "flag brand." and second-class had gone as "Waikato." This was the cause of a
great deal of dissatisfaction. A canvass for support has not yet been made, but '£5000 worth of sliares are already a.p-
