The' Mitchelson Timber Company are building, at the Kaipara, a scow, with a carrying capacity -of about 120,0'JOft of timber. The s.s. Waimana arrived nt Whakatane, from Auckland, this morning. She loaves nga'n for Auckland on Saturday, and will be due here on Sunday. The s.s. Aparima sail.-; for Wellington direct at 3 p.m. to-morrow. She will make Avicklniid her final port for; her ouhvnrd loading for Calcutta, .with despatch about fhe first week in October. Tbe s.s. Waipori changed her berth to the Queeu-st. AVharf this morning, and commenced .taking In transhipments, ex the s.s. Aparima, from Calcutta. The eteamei' leaves for Gisborne. Napier, and iWestport, at i> o'clock to-night.
