INSPECTION OF FISH.
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —Allow me a little space in your valuable paper to draw public attention to a little matter.; I notice by the papers that all meat has to be,inspected before being , exposed for sale- Now, why not fish? t am one who sees from a different position of a customer; I see behind the scenes, and have seen fish cured and smoked and exposed for sale that was unfit for 'Consumption. . I have seen smoked schnapper exposed for sale blue with mildew. I think an inspector ought to inspect fish as well as meat, and other necessaries■' of life. Other fishermen and loyers of fair play will also second me in this matter when they see spent fish, and fish like a jelly being- cured and smoked.—l am, etc., 1 A HSHERMAN.
