WAITEMATA COUNCIL.
An ordinary meeting of the Council was h-eld this morning: and attended by Messrs O"N«;ill (chairman), Taylor, Sinclair, Horton, Maeky, McLeod, Cochrane, A. Bruce, and Hatfield.
Sanitation at Henderson. — Dr. Makgill submitted the following report to the Waitemata County Council this morning concerning sanitary arrangements at "D. Buck's Camp," Henderson:—"No privy accommodation exists here, and as the huts, though of the most primitive description, are leased as dwellings, they «ome under section 46, Public Health Act. Probably two privies would prove sufficient for the group, including the store. The present lark of accommodation is offensive, and tends to-endanger the purity of the water in the creek, which is used for domestic purposes. I recommend therefore , that the Council take action to compel the owner to provide privies."—lt was reported- that the owner had beeu officially requested to remedy the defects.
Wharepapa Bridge.—On the recommendation ol the Finance Committee a tender of £35 for constructing a bridge the Kaipnra River, near Wharepapa railway station, was accepted from Mr John Fulton, on condition that he should make the road approaching the station.
Albany Telephone.—The Council ■ signed a bond guaranteeing the Government £19 per year for five years for the Albany telephone. The bond, however, will not be forwarded till the receipt of another bond from the Albany cohering) the Council's liability.
By-Roftds.—The Comicil resolved that in future no more money should be spent in acquiring land for by-roads.
