After couconslderuble discussion the country engineer was instructed to report on the cost of obtaining and making a road or roads on the best sire for a ferry service at Turua. Settlers in the Matatoke district petitioned the Council to extend the boundary of the present Matatoke drainage area to the ThamffS-l'aeroa road on the east and on the south to the boundary of the property known as Marshall's Farm, thence along the ?aid boundary line until it joins the Thames River in the west, thence along the river until it joins the north boundary of Marshall's property, and along the northern boundary until it joins the Thames-Paeroa road in the east. It was resolved that the Council should proceed by special order to extend the t boundaries as requested.
