AUCKLAND GAS CO.
MEETING OF SHAREHOLDERS.
A meeting of the shareholders of the Auckland Gas Company, Limited, was held at noon to-day at the company's offices, Wyndham-street, for the purpose of declaring a dividend. Mr J. 11. Upton (chairman of dii ectors) presided. The statement of receipts and expenditure for the half-year ending June 30, 1003, was submitted as follows:— Receipts.—By sale of gas, by meter, £33,512 8/2; public £2240 IJ\ residual products, £6105 0/4; rents receivable, £55 14/7; interest. £38; gas fittings, etc., £500: total, £42,541 10/1. Expenditure.—To manufacture of gas, £19,5CS 7/7; distribution of gas. £3417 14/S; public lamps, £014 17/10; rents, rates and taxes, £1541 0/2; management, £2351 18/9; law charges nnd bad debts,, sny, £100: total, £27,893 19/. Total receipts, £42,541 10/1: expenditure, £27,893 19: balance, £14,647 11/1. For dividend, £11,494; carried forward to profit and loss new account, £2698 11/1. The chairman moved, "That a dividend of 7/6 per share be declared." This was seconded by Mr Ching, and carried. The meeting then terminated.
