"STANDARD" ROLLED OATS FOR ENGLAND, PER TILIKUM. The following correspondence has been handed to us:— Capt. Yobs, "Tilikum," Auckland.— Dear Sir, —Welcome to our city. We are admirers of indefatigable courage, and we are convinced that you are in possession of an abundance of it, judging by the distance you have travelled and what you intend accomplishing in such a tiny craft. When you are ready for sea will you kindly accept some of our "Standard" rolled oats and oatmeal, packed in any manner for your convenience? It would be a waste of time to remind such an intrepid traveller that there is nothing more stimulating than oatmeal, cooked, or in the shape of a drink in warm climates. If you have time, we will be pleased to see you at our mill, Quay-street.—Yours truly, P. VIRTUE, Manager Northern Milling Co. 25th July, 1903. Manager Northern Milling Co., Auckland. Dear Sir, —Thanking you very much for taking an interest in my voyage. I have always been a lover of rolled oats, and therefore accept your offer with thanks. Please put sufficient to carry me to England, packed in tins; otherwise it may get spoilt by salt water. T will be sailing from here about the middle of next month, and my time will be short in Auckland, but, if possible, I will call on you before leaving. Thanking you once more for your kindness, yours truly, (Signed) J. C. VOSS, Master of the "Tilikum," Auckland, July 28, 1903.
