The "Kolnisehe Zeitung" has denied the rumour, which is "current to the effect that the German Government' will use its influence to prevent the election of Cardinal Rampolla. The Government is firmly resolved to endeavour to influence the Cardinals neither in opposing nor promoting any candidate.
