REQUEST TO REBUILD.

WELLINGTON, Tuesday
The. Hon. E. Mitchelson (Mayor 'of Auckland}, who is also chairman of the lienuiera Road Board, accompanied-by; several Auckland members,', waited on Sir Joseph Ward this afternoon with a request that he would re-build ,■ the bridge over the railway in the Remiieraroad.
Mr Mitchelson stated that the. Tramway Company were about, to commence the work of laying" rails througli.Jhe Remuera district. ' The bridge was'in a state of disrepair, and would reqiiire: renewing within two years. ■ It was proposed to renew the bridge now, and. strengthen and widen it, in order- to make it sufficient to. carry" the' {raffle* The Tramway Company was prepared ttt' pay ,-£ 200 • towards l-iie '* cost,- ,and, Mife Road Board would also contribute: Plaiiv and specifications..Jiad -been-prepared by, the Resident Engineer for Railways. -.
