FURTHER CHARGES AGAINST FARROW.
James Edward Farrow, storeman at Messrs. Burns and Company's warehouse, who has already been committed for trial on charges of theft, was ' again brought up yesterday before Mr H. W. Brabant. S.M., charged with the theft of an Orion range, value £ 10, on 24th February, and also with stealing three cases and 10 sheets of galvanised iron, 12 lengths of ridging, seven sheets of zinc, and 121bs of nails belonging to John Burns and Co., his employers, on December 3rd. The evidence showed that Farrow supplied the goods to George William Sanders, an accountant, living in Graftonroad. Mr Sanders paid Farrow practically the value of the goods, understanding that he was securing a reduction by purchasing them through Farrow, who had the privilege of buying goods at wholesale prices. Gordon Clarke, a salesman who had previously made admissions incriminating himself, said he got the nails and Farrow the zinc. He made out a receipt to give to Sanders, and Farrow gave him £7. Accused was committed for trial, reserving his defence, and pleading not guilty. Bail was allowed.
