LACROSSE.
The chaniuioiship competition was continued on the Domain ground on Saturday, The afternoon being fine, the ladies turned out in strength, and lent an attractive appeur'dnce to the pavilion. GEAFTON V. SUBURBS. Great interest was taken 5 n this match, the spectators feeling that-if any club had v chance left of beating the unbeaten black and whites, Suburbs possessed i Lat chance. That the Jooker-on (who usually sees many points of the game to advantage) was not far out. the result —one goal each—-proved correct. It was a real good game, a regular ding-dong battle from ; beginning to end. Hew closely the active homes ou both sides wore watched by the defence ts shown by the fact that during 80 minutes' play a solitary goal was won by either side. Every man worked hard for a win. both defence and attack doing all they knew for and against. Ii was a game well worth seeing, and was one of the best of the season. EDEN AND EPSOM V. CITY. A rattling good game came off between these clubs. At half time there was little to choose between them, the score being 3 to 2 in favour of the blues and gold. Towards the end, E. and E.s slowly forged ahead, and in the last quarter settled things by notching two goals in rapid succession. Result, 0 to 3. The game was fairly fast on both sides at first, but towards the ond the Eden attack had the City defence heater.. The old complaint, "want of .condition." telling its usual tale. It was a hard "•o nevertheless, and with a little bit of Fuck the other end—Bradley hitting the goal post no less than thrice—the game might have ended very close.
