COLONIAL, FLOCKS DECREASING

WELLINGTON, this day

The interim return of sheep in the colony on April 30th last shows a gross decrease of 1.340,673 as compared with the same day yaar, the total being 19,002,049, against, * :;0,342,727. Every province in ihe colony showed a decrease, that for Auckland being 98,470.

The decrease is aceoutned for by the export of frozen nu-;U. 1,286,820 more carcases being export od than in the previous year, the tc-al export being 4.030,537. In many parts of the colony the lambing was below the average. The increase in the nvut.ber of sheep last year was under 110,000.
