MARK HAMBOURG.
Another great programme was submitted to the audience who attended the Opera House on Saturday evening to hear the Hambourg concert. All of the performers were enthusiastically applauded at the conclusion of their solos, and at thu termination of the performance Hambourg was live times recalled, but refused to play an extra solo, much to the disappointment ot his delighted patrons. He gave a brilliant rendering of the animated "Sonata in C Major by Beethoven." Great bravura was exhibited in the opening "allegro." Much sentiment was displayed in the ''adagio.'' The melody in the minor part, played with the left hand, was expressively given, and the. legato was perfection. The allegro assai was rendered quick and sprightly, and the middle subject in F was executed very legatissimo, while the melody in the upper voice revealed a beautiful cantabile touch. He also gave several Chopin piee?s, and closed the performance with a powerful rendering of tho Mendelssohn-Liszt "Wedding March." Boris Hambourg performed all his solo with exquisite taste and lovely tone quality. Miss Batchelor sang Donnizetti's "Gouvipu Parti r ,, very carefully, and secured much success in Wright's "If Thou Didst Know." Kahlor's "Etudr de Concedt" displayed Mr -John Lemmone's artistic finish and silvery tone f.o exceptional advantage. Tho audience were delighted with him, and insisted on a further contribution.
