FOOTBALL.
PUKEKOHE V. WAIUKU.
A very exciting game was played at Pukekohe on Saturday between the above-named teams, resulting in a decisive victory for I'ukekohe by 15 points to nil. This match had been looked forward to tor some time with kceu interest, as Waiuku had so far never had a defeat. The last ;ime Pukekohe nud Waiuku uiet, Waiuku won, but several of the I'ukekohe senior forwards could not make the trip, and had to be replaced by juniors. The Pukekohe men, with a very .strong wind in their favour iv the lirst spell, had all the best of the game, and at half time had 15 points to their credit. N. Wright scored a try, which H. Lodge converted, and 11. Lodge scored a try and kicked two goals, one from a penalty kick aud one from a mark. It was thought that in the second spell, when Waiuku had rhe wind behind them, they would turn the scale, and they made strenuous efforts to score but Pukolcohe defended well, and towards the close of the s>pell had the best, of the game, being very near to scoring two or three times. Mr Pelham, from Auckland, officiated as referee, and kept the game well under control. There was a lyrge attendance of spectators. Waiuku meet Bombay on Saturday next.
