ST. MATTHEW'S MEN'S CLUB,
A special invitation social was held last evening in the St. Matthews' Schoolroom by the members of the Men's' Social Club, and the invitations were, as usual, extended to the Sunday-school teachers, choristers, vestrymen and personal friends of the members, together with their wives. The attendance was very .large. Messrs Tremain's orchestra contributed a number of items, and songs were sung by Messrs Tapper* Read, and Bennett, and Misses Towsey and Bingl.y. Cards, draughts and ping-pong games were indulged in, and refreshments were supplied by the members. The vicar, the Rev. E. Gillam, presided, and Mr Fowler gave a short address thanking the members for their hospitality.
