GOOD TEMPLARY.
The quarterly meeting of the Star of Newton No. 4, 1.0.G.T.. was held last evening, when the officers for the quarter, who had been elected the week previous, Were installed. These consisted of the folowing:—Bros. J. Pierce, C.T.; T. Reardon, V.T.; J. Camaban, secretary; R. Benson, treasurer; E. Lightfoot, financial secretary; Sister/ M. Harrison, marshal; Sister H. Carnahan, dep. marshal; Sister. R. L. Moore, guard; Bro. H. Elliott, sentinel. The secretary's rqport showed that the lodge started last quarter with 100 members, and since then had initiated 16; that a piano had been purchased for £40, and that after paying all debts there was a good credit balance m hand. The newly-installed officers returned thanks, after which greetings were received from the Hope of Birkdale Lodge, Napier Lodge, and one 'from Dunedin, these being conveyed by visitors.' The remainder of the evening was taken up with harmony.
