Messrs Samuel Vaile and Sons sold three city houses, and a section of land at Waiau by auction this afternoon. The sale was largely attended. The land at Waiau, which consisted of_lßo acres, was bought for £65. A five-roomed cottage in Lincoln-street, on a section with 33ft frontage, and a depth of 100 ft, realised £280. A 15-romed house in Wellesley-street, described as eminently suited for a boardinghouse, realised £800. A cottage of four rooms in Col-lingwood-street, on a section of 66ft by 103 ft, was sold for £335. A Wairoa farm of 776 acres, in the; estate of the late Mr D.' Crawford, was withdrawn, the bidding not reaching the reserve.
