New Zealand St. Leger.—Golden Vein 8.10, Tercelet 8.10, Lavalette 8.10. Ringman 8.10, Kelbum 8.10, Porirua 8.10, Dodona 8.10. HTJTT TRAINING NOTES. WELLINGTON, this day. The Hutt course this morning was a little "holding." and; tbe outside of the track proper was used for training operations. Porirua, a little sore, was sent a couple of solid rounds. Achilles went round under a strong pull, yet covered the last seven furlongs in 1.37. Windwhistle and Aherlow were about a match over five furlongs, run in 1.8. Treadmill did sis furlongs comfortably in 1.20. Cannie Chiel rau a solid round. Tercelet and Ballyneety. sprinted over six furlongs separately. Golden Vein galloped seven furteigs in I.ZQX but tired at tbe finish. Shackle bounded over a mile at three-quarter pace, and appeared to be in robust health. Exmoor was restricted to half pace work. Ixia galloped six fnrlongs in 1.24!. finishing nicely. Tsaritza ran five furlongs In 1.5, the smartest five furlongs of two mornings. St. Denis ran six furlongs iii 1.20J, the first four in 51s. Shrapnel Shell had the advantage of Hydrant over 6, furlongs, and was ridden out the last five, in 1.6 4-5. H.eatley easily defeated Benefactor over a similar distance. Red Gauntlet covered six furlongs in 1.20 1-5, finishing well. There was little to choose between Petrovna'and Pure Silver at the end of six furlongs,' run in 1.21_. Plpi jumped four cross country obstacles in good style. Pampero, having thrown off a slight soreness, covered two rounds at about half pace. TerrapiD and Lolab both. had something: in- hand comlnsr home from six furlongs, run in 1.21 J. Light proved too good for Kohnnul over a round, seven furlongs, which took 1.40. Lavalette galloped four furlongs pleasingly, and Wind did ; seven furlongs in 1.37. Ballarat ran six furlongs in 1.23. Narcotic and Turepo were about a match over half a mile. _f n in 55Js. Pallas attempted to give Ringman fen lengths in a mile, but failed to make up more than half the ground. Rlngman's time was 1.48 3-5. Pallas went another round at a quiet pace. Motor did half a mile in 545. Holmes arrived with his team this morning. , .
