At the Opawa swimming sports on Saturday, Drake won the 100 yards test race, and will represent Canterbury at the New Zealand Championship meeting at Auckland.

The Governor performed the opening ceremony of the Christchureh Golf Club's new club-house on Saturday. The buildings, which are of a substantial character, include social and dressingrooms for the lady and gentlemen members, a dining-room, and caretaker's apartments.
