WAITEMATA BOATING CLUB.
Trial fours for trophies presented by Mr A. S. White were held by the Waitemata Boating Club on Saturday afternoon. The first heat was between crews strqked by E. A Smith and C. Waud, the former winning by a length. D. Bell's crew were sue- . pssful in the second heat, winning from a crew stroked by E. Brewin. The third heat resulted in W. F. Smith's crew defeating T Payne's by three or four feet. In the fourth round a crew stroked by G. Huddlestou won after an exciting "go. The first semi-final was won by E. A. Smith's crew, Bell's crew being beaten by a couple of lengths. The remaining semifinal and the final will be rowed on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings respectively.
