The local secretary received by yesterday's mail the official results of the lirst examination (theory) under the new i syllabus, which was held at Auckland on the 13th December last. These local » examinations are now held twice a year,' in June and December. All candidates ( in each division enter for pass and honours, the limit of GO marks per cent, be-, ing required for a pass, and eighty perl cent, for an honours certificate. The. number examined last December was as. follows: — I Senior Division.—Examined F>, passed 2, failed 3. Intermediate Division: Examined 11, passed 10, failed 1. Junior Division: Examined 33, passed MO. failed 3. Total examined 49, passed 42, failed 7.
