Referring to the petition to the Goveri nor-General asking for an inquiry into ; the charges made by him against British I officers. Cardinal Moran denies that he i ever accused British officers of murder- ! ing Samoans. for the good reason that the Samoans got out of the way. He avus Avilling to have a German Imperial Commission appointed to enquire into the [doings of the missionaries at Samoa durf ing sixty years past.
