A PRISONER COMPLAINT

At the Police Court to-day, before Mr H. YV. Brabant. S.M., Francis McKenjia. a young man, who was lined 5/ for drunkenness, complained in Court that when he was in the cells at tha watch-house on Sunday morning he was struck ou the oar and forehead by - constable who was cleaning the place. Two other men heard him yelling, and he complained to Sub-Inspector Black. Sub-Inspector Black, in reply to HiWorship, said he received tho complaint, and McKenna had written _ statement, which was forwarded to tlie Inspector. McKenna identified tho constable who was alleged to have commit' tod the assault.

Mr Brabant informed McKenna that inquiries would bo made, and if the de* fondant was not satisfied he could tales other proceedings.
