J. C. WILLIAMSON'S DRAMATIC CO.
The greatest interest is being takeu In the forthcoming production of "Sherlock Holmes," by Mr J. C. Williamson's new dramatic organisation at His Majesty s Theatre, on Monday evening next, for all the latest stage effects, one of the New Zealand representation of the plaj, and will be seen for the first time in Auckland. The curtain will be raised while the theatre is in total darkness ho that each scene will be projected before the audInce like a vision; and at the end of eacL act the lights will be gradually lowered on the picture until it fades from view as in a dream. The company, which has been specially selected, will bo headed by Mr Cuyler llastin-s who has been brought to Australasia purposely to piay the title role in which he has made considerable fame in America, most cordially endorsed by the Australian press and public. Ihe entire production is being brought to Auckland intact. Amongst Mr Hastings support, will be found several ladies and gentlemen who will make their first appearance in Auckland, and were engaged by Mr Williamson in their respective parts during his recent visit to England and America.
