James Glaisher, the distinguished leronaut, has died at the age of 94.
[Mr. James Olaisher. F.P..5., -vas born in ISW. Although he did invaluable work in Mils as varied as meteorology, microscopy, stid photography, he is now chiefly rememwred for his achievement as an aeronaut. Between ISG3 and 1866 he made twentyMac balloon ascents, in one of whicli. in lm company of the late Mr Coxwell. he 'Mclied the record height of seven miles. * Olaisher published his experiences in mvels jh tii e All . ■- As a recognition of we above highest record ascent, which look place at Wolverhampton in 1863, he became, and had since remained, president «tne Aeronautical Society of Great: Britlin.]
