GREAT HEAT IN AUSTRALIA.
SYDNEY, January 3
The heat in the interior is unabated, there being many records well over 100 degrees/—-Mount Drysdale 122, Baradine 112, Brewarrina 119, and Eem-psey US. Goodooga yesterday put up a heat record of 123 degrees, and Bourke 12U degrees. A cyclone in the evening" destroyed and unroofed a number of houses, and did considerable other damage. A fall in the thermometer followed by thunderstorms in other places eased the situation.
