ANNUAL MEETING.
The 29th annual meeting of the Auckland Rifle Association was brought to a conclusion at the Akarana Rifle Club's range at Avondale on Saturday afternoon. Owing in want of time, however, the Carbine Mutch was abandoned, and the Cadet Match was postponed until next Saturday, j In the morning the wind and light were \
j unfavourable, but in tne afternoon the conditions'were better. Great katerest cantered iv the aggregate for the championship or rlie district, tne winner being Private VV. Cox, of the Victoria Killes, who came nrsr with a total of 165. Private Cox won the Northern Match, the last that counted tor the aggregate, his win entitling him to the possession of the "Star" Cup. The afternoon was taken up with the Nursery Match and the Volley and Section Attack Competitions. The meeting has been a very successful oue. though the matches would have been got through more expeditiously had .there been more targets. It is hoped that the new Government range at Penrose will be available for the next meeting. The prizes were presented to the winners by Mr BollarC, M.H.R., a vice president of the Association.
