Tne spring final resulted:—Walker, 1; Goouson, 2oyds, 2; Boldi, 40yds, 3. The winner was blocked to the last Jap, but came through with a rush, and won by nearly two lengths. The time was 57 3-ss. The Quator-mile International Championship brought out most of the cracks, including Chalmers, who won his heat in 33s In the semi-final Taylor covered the distance in 30 3-ss, and Walker iv 31s, respectively. The final resulted:—Taylor 1, Walker 2, Lewis 3. Taylor went Lo the front, followed by Walker, and the pair watched each other till Lewis shot to the front, when Taylor and Walker went in pursuit, and, leaving Lewis behind, made a great finish, Taylor winning by a clear length. The time was 32 2-ss. The live miles race produced another splendid finish, Walker winning by half a wheel frjm Goodison, with Mutlow third iaylor who was blocked, came fourth, the a ?S, l teSfSrt?'of a mile in the fivemile race was covered in 20 8-60, an Australian record.
