Very pretty and almost incredible is the story of the little girl who bated getting up early and pinned a nolice on her coverlet: "Tresspisaurs on my dreams shall te prosekuted." And one shudders to think of the abnormal development of the child who, when shown his twin baby sisters, exclaimed: "Oh, mother's been getting bargains again." The conversation of two small children in church on the occasion of the visit of a bishop, who was wearing his mitre, is very delightful: "He's a king,** said one. "He isnt," was the contemptuous reply. "This is church." "He is." "No, he isn't." "Well, then, he's a clown." Here is another: "God would not send a flood now," said Frances comfortably after hearing the Noah story. "And why?" asked her mother. "Oh, He knows everyone can swim now, it wouldn't be any good." "Please let's rerange about Christmas presents," said Rosamond to Miss Sorabji last Christmas. "ISut don't you want a surprise?" asked Miss Sorabji. "Oh, no," she replied, *Tve tried surprises and they're only disappointments. ,.
