COCK CROWING.
(To the Editor;) Sir,—My advice to those subjected to this noisy pest; is: Beg, borrow, or steal a first-class "game," slip him at the offending culprits. After one round the rowdy cockerel will sleep for a time,lf not for ever.—l. am, etc., JUNGLE COCK.
ITo the Editor.)
Sir, At last : attention has beenturned to the above sleep-destroying nuisance. What yo\ir correspondent, P.P., proposes would, in most cases, be ineffective, because of the fowls roosting in trees or under verandahs. I would suggest $he Bismarckian remedy of "tit for tat," Let "Insomnia Vera" take to tin-canning the neighbourhood say between the hours of 1 and 2 a.m. This will likely bring matters to a crisis, resulting in a. settlement for fowls of the area.—l am, etc., OLD HAND.
