TECHNICAL EDUCATION.
A deputation consisting, of Messrs;. Hall and G. Hutton; "representing the. ; Provincial Agricultural Association, waited" oii tne Board 0* Education today in reference to technical and agricultural instruction in ~schools, iklr George, technical instructor, was also present.
-vMr-Hall explained to the board that Mr George had-a scheme for the-ia-, troductibn: : of agricultural;;instruc- ,- tion in schoolsMr George, briefly, outlined hia scheme. He said that-at the present time in the primary schools-the chili dren were taught only an elementary form:of.agricultural,chemistry, would- have to provide in some way. or .other. plots..of.ground where- es> periments could be .carried out b$ vthe; pupils themselves. In.-the colleges or high- schools they would get a higher form-of instruction. As in the Old Country,, small experimental farms with advanced teachers would <be: provided il>y the Grammar School, , and in this way dairying, and other industries connected with agncuftuieV could be taughfc I Scholarships woulct 1 eilable; children attending ;i: the i primary schools to pass on to tlw high schools and' gra'mmai? schblsi and by the time they reached' the agricultural college they would- be sufflciently trained to stu<Jy" the firiaT' methods. In regard to the, teaching' of- agriculture in the primary schools; Mr George said efficient teachers' who would visit different school! should 'be available., ~ , , s . The chairman (Mr J.
