An entertainment was given last evening in St. Benedict's Hall by Messrs Cooper and Macdermott. in aid of the Newton Schools' prize fund.. The Coronation series of kinematograph views were shown, as well as "The Ladder or Life," and a number of other films, all of which were greatly — r>preci—ted. The Newton East School Cadets gave an exhibition of physical drill, and the scholars of Standards V. and VI. rendered "The Old Folks at Home" pleasingly. Tonight another entertainment will be given at St. George's Hall, at which the pupils of Newton West School will assist.
