Gordon, continuing their first Inn ngs, ran. the score up to. 244 for fiv« wickets, and then declared. T. D. Ball, who was not out with 97 to his credit on the previous day, advanced his score to 104 not out. Auckland could do little or nothing: when it came to their turn to bat, and were all dismissed for BG, of which MacCormick made 35 by good cricket.
