AQUATICS. HOME BAY SAILING CLUB. A general meeting of the Home Bay Sailing: Club was held in the Ponsonby football shed on Thursday evening. Mr C. H. Palmer was elected secretary in place of Mr J. P. Maguire (resigned), but who still remains treasurer, and Mr Hoknnden was elected to the seat on the committee rendered vacant by Mr Palmer's election as secretary. The club has made provision for four series of races during 'the season, the first race to be sailed on November 29, the others In January, February and March, exact ■dates not yet decided. The club picnic will also be iheld in January. The races are for two classes of bjats, one of all. club yachts under 24ft overall, and the other open sailing boats. In addition to prize money for each race, points will be given to count for a championship cup for Uhe yachts and flag for the open boats, the boat gaining the highest number of points during the season to be the winner in each class. The opening cruise takes place on Saturday, 22nd inst.
