A NEW MARK TWAIN STORY.

I wonder how many stories there are' floating around anent Mark Twain? I remember, says a writer in "To-Day," hearing him tell one about himself that is worth repeating. It was during a visit to Missouri, and a big crowd had gatherea at the railway station to greet him. A little boy in the crowd knew that someone was coming, but he did not know the name of Mark Twain from that of King Solomon. This boy perched himself oa top of a freight car, where he could see all that happened. The train at lengtii rolled in, and as the humorist stepoe-d out, people became excited and shouted "Here he isJ Here he is!" The boy on the car thought that some notorious horse-stealer must have been captured, from the din the folk were making, and. shouted at the top of Ms voice, "Git a rope! Git a rope!"
