A POLITICAL FIFTH OF NOVEMBER.

OPENING OF THE BOWLING

SEASON

THE WAIKATO SHOW,

ELECTIONEERING UNDE R

DIFFICULTIES

WITH THE PREMIER ON THE

TONGARIRO

The "Graphic" again offers its readers excellent value for their money in this week's1 issue OVER NINETY PICTURES. The views of the opening of the Auckland Bowling Season, include a fine full-page picture of fche Grafton green in full play, groups of Auckland bowlers and their friends* and some fine views of the Devonport opening. "A Political Fifth of November" is n very laughable series of squibs on the political situation. The Waikato Show is splendidly illustrated in the issue, which gives in addition to other pictures of the event a fine double-page of show illustrations.

A valuable illustrated article on ■'How to Learn to Swim" is appropriate at this season. There are some unique pictures of the difficulties of electioneering in up-country districts. "With the Photographer on the Tongariro" would be a fitting title for the series of pictures supplied tiie '-Graphic" by a gentleman who m,ade the voyage from London on that vessel with the Premier and the Coronation Contingent. The St. George's Bay Bowing Club and their champion team form the subject, of illustrations."' In, the issue is concluded the illustrated article on Trout Fishing. There are three whole-page cartoons in the number, which is rich in miscellaneous illustrations.

In variety and quantity of literary attractions the number is well up to its usual high standard. It gives all the news of the week, social news and personal items, not published elsewhere, the latest racing notes; and caters for ladies and young folks on a scale not attempted by any other journal in New Zealand.
