The Grey I.ynn Council met last night
The council spent considerable time considering the plans for works on the Great North-road, rendered necessary by the laying of the tram lines. An attempt was made by Crs. Parker and Brlnsden to secure a "return of the expenditure of the various wards, by moving that certain works in Richmond Ward be deferred pending submission of sucb. return. The Mayor pointed out that Surrey cicscent must be repaired, and the other items were for small amounts. After some discussion the repairs were authorised A deputation, with Mr F. Brinsden for spokesman, waited upon the council with regard to an open drain near their dwellings. The deputation was informed that the owner of the property had already agreed to connect with the main drain. Cox's Creek Bridge.—The City Council wrote agreeing to prepare plana and estimates for a permanent culvert over Cox's Creek bridge, provided Grey Lynn Council paid half cost, £5. It was agreed to pay the sum asked for.
Sackville-street.—Mr J. T. Boylan wrote intimating a wish to dedicate six feet fronting Sackville-street from the bridge Lo IU chmond avenue, in order to make the road the full width, 60ft. It was agreed to accept the land dedicated.
Accounts totalling £187 C/l were authorised to be paid, and also £348 upon loan account.
Water Supply.—On the motion of Cr. McMaster, Messrs Foster, Parker, and the mover were appointed a committee to report as to the propriety of making the water supply a borough question.
