EEECTORAIfr : IO THE ELECTORS OF AUCKLAND CITY. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,— ' As there appears to be a feeling in. the minds of the Electors that-it is not my intention to go to the .Poll,' I beg to say that I go to the poll positively. Yours faithfully, , " JAMES REGAN. jy-R "pRED J£ gAUME Will Address THE ELECTORS OF AUCKLAND On THIS (MONDAY) EVENING At S o'clock p.m., on "THE POLITICAL POSITION." AT ST. JAMES' HALL. Chairman — F. G. EWINGTON, Esq. Ladies Specially Incited. PRELIMINARY NOTICE. TO THE ELECTORS OF AUCKLAND. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,— I have the honour to announce my determination to stand for the City at the forthcoming General .Election, in Direct Opposition to the Government.—l am, yours faithfully, ALBERT PENN BRADLY. TO THE ELECTORS OF EDEN. Ladies and Gentlemen, — I have the honour to announce, that I will be again a Candidate for your Suffrages at the forthcoming General Election. I will visit the various centres at an early date, and Address you on the Political Questions of the day. Trusting to receive your support, I am, yours faithfully, JOHN EOLJjARD. rVO THE CITY OF AUCKLAND J- EL-EJCTORS. LADIES AND GENTLEMI3N,I ordered sora« planks for my political platform some time ago from a timber company, but so far they have not. been supplied, consequently they will be too green to «« eV*s** «X as the elections are so close. have »om« oW cut and firied ones which I will supply you with. 1 am opposed to Party Government as it exists at present. ■ it is demoralising in its influence, and opens the door to wholesale corruption. I am opposed to the continuance erf the Upper House as at present constituted. It is an inoubus upon healthy Government of the colony. I would advocate the finances of the colony being: managed by an'independent board, separate from the members of either the Lower of Upper' House. I would advocate the simplification of our laws. Some of our Licensing Laws are a disgrace to the statute books of the colony. I am opposed to the Tiert Houses System, as applied to hotels in this city, as I consider the law for its prevention js being: over-ridden by the power of money. THE LAND.—I have not studied this question sufficiently to warrant me giving an authoritative opinion as regards the different systems for disposing of Crown lands. I believe in throwing them open for settlement as fast as possible, and giving every facility to hona. floe settlers, as I think the concentration of population in large towns is the greatest menace and curse to our civilisation from i a moral and physical point of view. j KAURI GUM.—Natural wealth. The most valuable asset that this country ever possessed; ■ The"way the* North Island- ■ has been depleted -of thi* valuable cornr takes ever rn&do: by, any . Govecnioeat v They have practically allowed our sovereigns.. to be- sold- for -ten--' shiflirtgs. STATE •^OR.ESTRY -I wttuld ailv&Sat* the reproduction'of the kauri tree, as I am credibly informed that a kauri rlcker when twenty years old exudes that white resinous matter which is kauri gum, in its primitive state. Such being- the .case every mother to-day in this city who has a baby in arms can rely upon this industry to look forward to for employment foT her child, when the more laborious work of digging it has practically ceased to e-xist. The motbeTS m=ust all remember it is conting-ent upon tbeir returning me. T would advocate an alteration in the present system of Registration of Electoral Votes. I will deal more exhaustively with all these subjects before polling day. Yours faithfully, HECTOR NORMAN SIMSON, SEN. GROCERIES. ETC. JUST- ARMVKD, A CONSIGNMENT OF LIGHT FOLDING HAT RACKS.
