RETURN TO AUSTRALIA

BRISBANE, this day,
Sir E. Barton, ou arrival here from England, via Vancouver, was welcomed on behalf of the Federal aad State Parliaments. In an interview he reviewed the work of the Imperial Conference, but added nothing of importance to the facts already cabled. He refrained from expressing any opinion on the results. He said the speeches he delivered in England advocated reasonable Imperialism in place of a reckless tendency to rush into quarrels and disputes without considering the causes. He favoured cohesion with tie Empire by all reasonable and wiste means consistent with the preservation of Australia's autonomous government
