POLLARDS'S OPERA COMPANY.
The box plan for "The Messenger Boy" •will be opened by Messrs Wildman and Arey to-morrow morning, and the opera which will be produced in the Opera House for the first time in Auckland on Saturday evening next, is sure to prove a great attraction. The opera is described as genuinely funny, and that there is no part of the performance that does not introduce something in comedy, song, or dance. A contemporary states that Mr \V. S. Percy as "Tommy Bang" (the Messenger Boy) scores heavily, while Miss Edgar scores a very distinct success as "Mrs Bang," the Cockney; Miss Gertie Campion is a bright and winsome lady'? maid; Miss Connie Buttel captivates the audience with a martial air: Mr Quealey has a congenial part In "Captain Pott;" and other members of the company are also very well cast. The chorus have abundance of effective wcrk.
