WELLINGTON NOTES.

WELLINGTON, this day.
The Acting-Premier returned from Blenheim early this morning. He will probably leave "for Wanganui and Taranaki on Tuesday or Wednesday next, on his way to Auckland to meet the Premier.
The Native Minister, who has been at Napier on business connected with native legislation, is expected back this evening.
The Minister for Public Works returns from the North on Tuesday night next. The Hon. Mr MeGowan, Minister for Justice, leaves for Auckland abou. the middle of next week, and is , unlikely to return to Wellington till* after the general elections.
Information was received in town this morning of the death of Mr John Edmondson, of the soft goods firm of Edmondson and Dickerson, of this city. He died at Sydney yesterday on his way back from Japan, where he had gone in quest of health. Deceased had been in the colony 30 years. At one time he had command of the whole carrying trade between Napier and Wellington.

The Wellington City Council's electrical engineer left for Europe to-day to purchase electrical plant.
