. A three and a half year old child got through the railing^ guarding the .ions' cage at the Zoo and its grandfather (Renn) rushed to its rescue. A lion put its paw through the bars, grabbed the .man, and struck him with another paw, seriously tearing his flesh and back while trying to draw him into the cage. The man was rescued from the clutches of the lion with difficulty
