A special meeting of the Tham«Rifles was held last night, when Fri* vates W. Jennings (who is leaving fo* Tonga), and C. Hands (who is transferred to Wellington) were presented with a pipe and a razor and travel" ter's companion respectively. Tb» presentation was made by the Mayor, Mr F. Trembath. After the recipient-had-replied, their health was drunk with musical honours. Mr Hands was also the recipient of a medal from th» Central Ping-pong Club. _.
